The former prefect of the county, Virgiliu Nanu, the president of PSD Prahova and several mayors and parliamentarians held a press conference on Wednesday in which they complained about the problems at Hidro Prahova. “The price charged is the second highest price in the country,” claimed Nanu, who specified that four localities in the county do not have water.
The former prefect of the county, Virgiliu Nanu, president of PSD Prahova, complained about the high water tariff applied by Hidro Prahova, but also the network losses of the regional operator.
“The price charged is the second highest price in the country. As a comparison, I want to tell you that it is double the price charged by Apa Nova in the municipality of Ploiești. The channel fee is 7.3 lei, total 14.14 lei price without VAT.
I do not understand how this very high price was reached, which we publicly ask Hidro Prahova to justify if it is a fair price or if it is an artificial, inflated price. Moreover, the losses assumed by the company, losses assumed at ANRSC, are 48%”argued Virgiliu Nanu, the former prefect of Prahova county.
“There are four localities where people could not access any kind of funds because they were included in this program. I’m not saying the program wasn’t good, but why wasn’t it implemented.
Provita de Jos, Provita de Sus… There are many localities. They all come and ask for our help. We try to solve their problems. I tried amicably, but it’s not possible anymore. Someone has to answer why we are at this stage“, claims Virgiliu Nanu.
Four localities in Prahova, without water
Present at the press conference, the mayors of Vărbilău, Bătrâni, Șoimari and Vadu Săpat signaled, in turn, several problems related to the water network, but also the lack of drinking water.
“In the 21st century we carry water with a bucket and we don’t have water for 840 households”claimed the mayor of Bătrâni.
The mayor of Vadu Săpat complained, instead, that, “during the hot season of the year, for three months, citizens receive water two hours in the morning, two hours in the evening.
People cannot drill wells because the water table is 35 meters deep. Hidro Prahova does not want to consider our requests”.
