Coastal traffic could change significantly in the coming years. After a long period of waiting, Romanians will be able to see this project come to fruition. The documentation for the Coastal Highway was sent to the National Agency for Public Procurement (ANAP).

Drivers who reach the seaside will escape the infernal traffic between the resorts. The National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR) submitted to the National Agency for Public Procurement (ANAP) the entire documentation for the Soarelui Highway.

The execution of the Techirghiol Alternative, also called the Coastal Highway, would be 30.59 kilometers long and represent an important pillar for tourism.

Today, the award documentation for the design and execution of the Techirghiol Alternative, also known as the Coastal Highway, was sent to the National Agency for Public Procurement ANAP . This new road will be built at highway level and will have:

  • 2 traffic lanes per direction
  • 31 structures (bridges, passages, viaducts), including the construction of a new bridge over the Danube – Black Sea Canal
  • service spaces (left/right)
  • 85 ha forest curtains
  • parking lots (left/right)
  • Maintenance and Coordination Center
  • – 5 road junctions:
  • Cumpăna road junction (km 2+600)
  • 2) Road junction between the Techirghiol Alternative and the connecting road (km 5+960)
  • 3) Road node connection between the connecting road and the passage DN39A – DN39 (km 5+960)
  • 4) Road junction DN38 (km 11+000)
  • 5) Road junction 23 August (km 30+220)”, according to CNAIR representatives.

The towns through which the new highway will pass

The route of the new highway will transit the cities of Techirghiol and Eforie, as well as the cities of Techirghiol and Eforie and the communes of Cumpăna, Agigea, Topraisar, Tuzla and 23 August.

“The purpose of this high-speed road is the construction of a new and fast connection between the Constanţi A4 ring road, from the area of ​​Cumpăna and the 23 August commune, at the intersection with DN39B, thus shortening the travel time by increasing the travel speed.” , CNAIR representatives sent.

Autostrada Litoralului, a project worth over 5.7 billion euros

The total value of the project is 5.74 billion lei. It is financed by non-reimbursable external funds through the Transport Program. The contract covers a period of 48 months, of which 12 months are allocated to the design phase and 36 months to the execution phase.
