Urban Bike Revolution opens the cycling season with a tour through Sibiu. “We want to provide a pleasant experience, especially for those who feel unsafe or threatened by traffic”

--

The Urban Bike Revolution Association invites the citizens of Sibiu to a cycle tour through Sibiu, to symbolically mark the opening of the season. “Although the temperatures, even during the winter months, are quite friendly and the discrepancy is no longer so great between the warm and cold season, an increase in the number of users has been noted recently,” the association’s representatives say.

Thus, on Saturday, starting from Piața Mare, from 3:30 p.m., lovers of cycling are expected with a small carriage at the start of the tour that will cross the streets and neighborhoods of the city.

“This tour has a symbolic role. On the one hand we want to raise the level of awareness among all traffic participants, to be more careful, on the other hand we want to offer a pleasant experience to all citizens, especially those who feel insecure or threatened by traffic. This is mainly due to the support provided by the competent authorities”, says Andrei Rusu, from Urban Bike Revolution.

The tour was and is intended especially for those who do not feel safe to move to different areas of the city by bicycle in their daily life, and all participants of the tour will respect the instructions of the organizers and the mobilized competent authorities.

This action is part of the BikeSchool project and is co-financed by the Sibiu City Hall through the Educational Agenda, carried out with the support of the Sibiu County Police Inspectorate and sponsored by KeepCalling, GreenHill Sibiu and ActionSport.
