A Carrefour store in the town of Nojorid was closed and fined 18,000 lei by the Bihor County Commissioner for Consumer Protection (CJPC) following an inspection carried out on Tuesday.

According to a statement sent on Wednesday by CJPC Bihor, the commissioners found that frozen products were stored in unsanitary cold rooms in the store, and dead rodents were also discovered in that area.

“Also, the entire storage space was unsanitized for a long period of time, with massive deposits of slime, dust, packaging remains, rust, broken boards, ice and snow agglomerations,” the release states.

CJPC also sent some images showing a dead mouse and dirty places in the store.

As such, the commissioners fined the store 18,000 lei and closed it until the deficiencies are remedied, that is, until the space is cleaned, disinfected and de-ratted.

At the time of publication of this news, the store was still closed. “We were asked to appear on the spot to check how the store looks after cleaning. If everything is in order, my colleagues will approve the reopening of the unit, if not, it will still be closed,” he explained to Bihor Adela Baziliu, senior commissioner in the CJPC Bihor.
