Temporarily unfit” for work. This is written in the medical documents presented by a teacher, convicted for sexual assault on a student and who was required to perform community service. The information was published on rejust.ro, given that, when he was notified that he had to start unpaid work, the convict came with medical documents, so the Vrancea Probation Service notified the court. At the court it was found that, indeed, the teacher had – according to the sentence – to perform 90 days of unpaid work for the benefit of the community within the Panciu City Hall or the Străoane Town Hall, “but this obligation cannot be enforced due to the state of health“.

The teacher was definitively sentenced in June 2023 to 3 years in prison with suspension for sexual assault, plus the execution of 90 days of community service. Later, after “seeking” the doctors, the teacher submitted to the probation file an aptitude sheet, as well as other documents, from which it also appears that he is classified as severely handicapped. “Thus, (…) the notification to the Probation Service is to be admitted and the obligation of the supervised person to perform unpaid work for the benefit of the community to be terminated“, concluded the court.

The act for which the teacher was convicted was reported in October 2020, by the father of an 8th grade student, who told the police that his daughter, during class, was groped on the breasts by the defendant. He constantly denied that he had done such a thing, although several students told during the investigation that the teacher had assaulted them in the same way in the past, even that the management of the high school had been notified, who promised that “will solve it“. And the students’ statements mattered substantially in the investigation, with prosecutors concluding that “it is improbable that so many children would lie about the teacher’s inappropriate gestures towards a female colleague, having no reason or interest to distort reality“.
