A tragic work accident took place yesterday, April 23, around 18:40, in Vânători-Neamț town, where a worker from Bangladesh was hit by a forklift. The police and labor inspectors are investigating the circumstances of the accident.

“On April 23 this year, at around 6:40 p.m., the police officers from the Târgu-Neamț Rural Police Department were alerted via SNUAU 112 about the fact that a 38-year-old man from Bangladesh had was injured by a forklift at work.

As a result of the checks carried out by the police, it was found that while a 53-year-old man was at work in Vânători-Neamț locality, while he was driving a forklift, he allegedly hit the man for 38 years, resulting in his death.” – the Neamt Police sent

Immediately after the accident, the representatives of the General Inspectorate for Immigration and the Territorial Labor Inspectorate of Neamț were notified, who began an investigation to determine exactly how this unfortunate incident occurred and whether the safety and health regulations at work were respected.

The police opened a criminal case for manslaughter and for not taking and not complying with legal safety and health measures at work.

“In the case, a criminal file was drawn up in which investigations are being carried out under the aspect of committing the crime of manslaughter, failure to take and non-compliance with the legal measures of safety and health at work, and following the investigations we will return with a follow-up report, the investigations are continuing to establish the causes and conditions that led to the occurrence of this event.” – the Neamt Police also specified
