--

“I have a plan for Romania and I know that we can raise our country higher than it has ever been”. This is how the presentation and interview of Sebastian Burduja, the PNL candidate for mayor of Bucharest, begins in the motoADN magazine.

“A motorcyclist in the fight for Bucharest City Hall. We don’t do politics, but it’s worth mentioning those who are with us and help us and share the same joys with us…. Who is Sebastian Burduja? Find out more from the interview given to motoADN magazine”, sounds one of the first public announcements related to the candidacy of the liberal Burduja, made by a moto magazine on Facebook.

Sebastian Burduja, 38 years old, the new liberal candidate for the Capital City Hall, says that he got on a motorcycle for the first time at the age of 16 in order to get to the high school more easily, because he had to change two buses.

“From spring to late fall, the way to get to high school was a Gilera – basically a scooter, with a motorcycle look. At 18 I got on a Honda CBR 600F and the rest is history”, says the liberal.

What did the motorcycle bring to his life? “A simply unique feeling of freedom”, dear friends and a way of driving “permanently connected to the road”.

Burduja says in the magazine dedicated to motorcycle enthusiasts that he works at an “infernal” pace and that he tries not to neglect his family by working so hard.

His passion for motorcycles made him realize that we need massive investments in infrastructure, with good roads and safety elements, he claims.

“With the support of the community I would be more than happy to do that,” he promises. Burduja also says that he really wants to change the mentality of some drivers towards motorcyclists. At the same time, he warns that he has legislative initiatives to punish those who rev their engines too high and exceed European noise standards.

His dream? To take a cross-country road trip in the States on a Harley Davidson Heritage Softail Classic.

Tariceanu, one of the most well-known liberal leaders passionate about motorcycles

Calin Popescu Tariceanu was and is a motorcycle enthusiast, he often came to the Victoria Palace on a motorcycle when he was prime minister. “With a motorcycle, I covered a road in 4 minutes that I used to cover in 15-17 minutes with a car”, he explained then.

Calin Popescu Tariceanu also had a motorcycle accident in 2006 while driving a Harley Davidson. Following the accident, he underwent knee surgery at a clinic in France.
