Local councils can decide to grant a percentage reduction of the building tax for natural persons who own a building located in Romania and who provide proof of at least three blood donations during a calendar year, according to the Law amending and supplementing Fiscal Code, promulgated on Tuesday by President Klaus Iohannis.
The reduction can be combined with the bonus granted under the law and is applied to the difference resulting from the deduction of the bonus from the tax due, the normative act specifies.
The exemption or reduction from the payment of the tax or fee is applied starting from January 1 of the year following the one in which the person submits the supporting documents.
The level of the reduction and the supporting documents necessary to prove the performance of the minimum number of blood donations are stipulated in the local council decision establishing the tax reduction, granted under the new law.
The measure comes to stimulate blood donation, after, from the beginning of 2024, the value of the vouchers was increased from 67 to 270 lei, leading to record numbers of people who came forward to donate.
Currently, the donation activity in Constanța and Tulcea counties is relatively normal, the only problem being the shortage of staff in the Transfusion Centers.
According to CRTS Constanța, 1,418 people showed up in March to donate blood, but only 1,079 met the criteria to have their blood collected.
CRTS Constanța urges all those who are in good health to donate blood.
The donor reception schedule is every day, from Monday to Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the mention that the prioritization of appointments, of donors donating by apheresis and of donors who come at the Center’s request, is maintained.
At the same time, CRTS continues the organization of mobile collections, such an action being organized next week in Medgidia, on Wednesday, April 10, between 8.30 and 13.30.
