The prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism – Iaşi Territorial Service, together with the policemen of the Iaşi Organized Crime Brigade, carried out, on Wednesday, three house searches in Iaşi county, of people who collected victims from a juvenile center and forced them to prostitute themselves.
In a press release from DIICOT – Iaşi Territorial Service, it is stated that a criminal case has been opened for trafficking of minors, in continuous form, sexual intercourse with a minor, use of child prostitution, child pornography and pimping.
‘From the criminal investigation documents it emerged that, in June 2021, two suspects, by misleading (the loverboy method) and taking advantage of the state of obvious vulnerability (young age, material lacks, institutionalized in a juvenile center) recruited two minor victims, 14 and 16 years old, whom they forced to practice prostitution, during several months, in order to obtain material benefits. Also, they had sexual relations with minor injured persons, knowing that they practice prostitution’, states DIICOT – Iaşi Territorial Service.
According to the cited source, with regard to one of the suspects, it was held that he produced and obtained from one of the minor victims recordings with explicit sexual content, images that he requested through online applications. It was also determined from the research that, in 2023, one of the suspects caused one of the minor injured persons to practice prostitution, facilitating this activity by organizing meetings with clients, in a building located in the city of Iasi, as well as collecting the amounts of money obtained from them.
