The title “City of Tulips” was stolen from Pitesti. Who is the “thief”.

Over a hundred thousand tulips bloomed in a park in Timișoara. The colorful flowers attract hundreds of tourists every day. The locals take hundreds of photos and they are not the only ones who lose track of time among the flowers. People come from over 100 kilometers away to admire the delightful parks.

In the public space, Timișoara is now called the city of Tulips, a name that was attributed to Pitesti for several years.

In the hope that we will recover our lost “title” for the moment, the 47th edition of the “Symphony of Tulips” festival will take place between April 19 and 21, 2024.

Organized in Lunca Argeșului Park, but also in the central area of the city, the event that has become an identity symbol for the Pitesti community will include, in addition to the exhibition of floral arrangements and the dendro-floricultural fair, numerous artistic, cultural and educational activities – scientific symposium, workshops for children , thematic contests, concerts and music and dance performances, as well as many other surprises, organized during three days full of joy and positive energy.

The festival will be opened on Friday, April 19, 2024, with the Flower Parade – with the participation of children from educational institutions in Pitesti, together with members of the community – which will take place in the central area of the city, followed by a visit to the flower exhibition in Lunca Argeșului Park by the official delegations and the general public and continued by the scientific symposium organized at the Pomicola Mărăcineni Research Institute, with the participation of Dr. Ilariu Isac.

Throughout the event, in Lunca Argeșului Park there will be music and dance performances, creative workshops for children, competitions and unique exhibitions, as well as extraordinary surprise recitals, on the outdoor stage.
