Ajax Amsterdam wants to strengthen its technical staff and would like to bring Cristi Chivu back to Amsterdam as a coach at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Ajax feel the need for a change in the technical bench for next season and they intend to make up for the poor season they had.

Ajax Amsterdam considers Cristi Chivu as “a coach for the future” and according to the Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio there is a long-term plan for Chivu.

The Dutch would like to offer Chivu a contract for five years to “prepare” him inside the club.

Chivu could take over the senior team at the end of a 2-3 year spell.

Chivu did not give an answer for the project proposed by Ajax, which was also very well seen at Inter Milan. In addition, Chivu is comfortable in Italy and would not be ready to move so easily.

Cristi Chivu is the last Romanian player to win the Champions League. The ex-captain of the national team (75 caps and 3 goals between 1999 and 2011) won the Champions League trophy in 2010 in Madrid.

Chivu performed in the final Inter Milan – Bayern Munich 2-0.

Chivu is a coach of Inter’s junior teams reaching the Primavera, with which he also won the title of Italian champion.
