The constructor was appointed for the design and execution of the widening works from two to four lanes on the national road 19 (DN 19), at the exit from Oradea towards Biharia, in the direction of Satu Mare.

The winning bid, worth 36,634,372.07 lei, VAT included, was submitted by the association of companies SC ASFAMIXT SRL (leader) and SC OPR ASFALT. The deadline for filing appeals is April 12. The duration of the contract is 9 months, of which 3 months are provided for design and approval and 6 months for the actual works.

The project envisages widening the road to 4 lanes over a distance of 3.7 km, between the positions km 5+985 – km 9+731. Practically, the section is comprised between the Socar gas station, continues towards the roundabout in the Remarkt Supermarket area, until the intersection with the Biharia bypass, which is under construction. It is proposed to set up a roundabout at the intersection with the belt.

A similar project is being implemented on DN 79, towards Arad. The Dumexim company will design and execute the widening works to four lanes on a 1.6 kilometer section, between the Oradea International Airport and the intersection with the road to Livada de Bihor, where a roundabout will be set up (three roads will intersect here : DN 79, DC 77 towards Livada de Bihor and the new belt between Oradea and Nojorid).

The two projects are carried out on the basis of the partnership between the Bihor County Council and the National Road Infrastructure Administration Company (CNAIR), and the financing will be provided from European funds, through the Transport Program 2021-2027.

The widening to four lanes towards Arad and Satu Mare will improve road traffic and reduce the number of accidents. These complement the infrastructure investments carried out by the Bihor County Council in the metropolitan area of Oradea Municipality, namely the Nojorid, Oșorhei, Sânmartin, and Sântandrei belts.
