A strange phenomenon has gone viral on TikTok. “Why would he?”

--

Several Tik Tok users have filmed themselves smashing supermarket chocolate bunnies. Later, they found 50 and 100 euro banknotes inside. And the Romanians started breaking the chocolate bunnies hoping to find money.

It’s gone too far

Although there were users who later admitted that they had put the money in the bunnies, some people did not believe them and went to the supermarket to look for money in the chocolate bunnies. In some stores, the chocolate bunnies ended up being put in boxes with an alarm, but that didn’t scare people, they even continued to break the products.

Most people stated that this phenomenon was primarily a marketing strategy around the Easter holidays. However, no one would have expected things to escalate in such a manner, according to the Observer.

Another controversial challenge on Tik Tok

Another Tik Tok challenge has sparked a lot of controversy online. The Egg Cracking Challenge asks parents of young children to film their children during a so-called prank. The parent enlists the help of a child to do something in the kitchen that requires eggs. While putting the ingredients in the recipe, the parent suddenly cracks the egg using the child’s face or head and dumps the contents into a bowl.

The kids are either confused and laughing, or freaking out and crying hysterically – which their parents find hilarious. The hashtag has garnered over 33 million views. There are also people who criticize parents who do this just to get a few views on Tik Tok.

Many users revolt

“One, the kid puts the egg on his head and he’s kind of confused, he thinks it’s a bit funny. Then, move on. Or, the parent breaks the egg on his head, and the little one is very upset about it and gets scared.”

User @mom.uncharted continues: “But when I see those videos, I think: Are we that bored as parents and desperate for something to post on the internet? Do we want to take part in this hysteria of consumerism – dopamine, likes and views – so that in 2023 we’re cracking eggs into our children’s heads in the hope that they have an entertaining reaction that we can publish online to entertain strangers?”
