Cristian Gentea, the current mayor of Pitesti municipality, took an important step towards continuing his political career, officially announcing his new candidacy for the leadership of the city.

His message, published on social networks, marks the beginning of the pre-election campaign:

“Cristian Gentea, for the municipality of Pitesti! Thank you for your trust! We are a force together!”, he conveys to the city’s residents.

Gentea, who won the trust of 16,800 Pitesti residents in the 2020 elections, thus reaffirms its commitment to the people of Pitesti under the auspices of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).

With a mandate already active, Gentea stands out as the favorite to re-occupy the seat of mayor in the next elections in June.

The competition for the mayor’s seat promises to be a close one. His counter-candidates are Mihai Coteț from PNL and Ionuț Mosteanu from USR.

However, considering the previous results, Gentea is considered to have the best chance of securing a second term at the head of the local administration of Pitesti.
