The Gendarmerie is moving to the Public Garden

--

Not definitively, but for four hours, during which the soldiers wait with them for the people of Galața, to celebrate together 174 years of the existence of the army

So, Saturday, March 30between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., adults and children are expected in the Public Garden to join the gendarmes, who will let them steal from them the secrets of the trade and try to lure them with their best into a possible future career “in blue”.

“We thus want a closeness and an openness towards the people of Galați, especially towards children, through their interaction with our fighters from the special forces and with specialists from different fields of activity, so that we can answer any question aimed at our professional area. Moreover, young high school graduates and those in their final years will be able to obtain information on how to join our ranks, either by graduating from the military schools of non-commissioned officers of the gendarmerie, or by graduating from the Police Academy,” he stated Capt. Cătălin Bădin, spokesperson of the Galati Gendarmerie.

The gendarmes will be waiting for their guests with workshops prepared for anti-terrorist intervention and special actions, ensuring and restoring public order, car technique, special places for shooters with semi-automatic sniper rifle and machine gun. Those curious to learn more about the history and tradition of the Gendarmerie will be able to admire and take photos with uniforms from the period of ruler Alexandru Ioan Cuza, from the First World War and the Second World War, uniforms made available by the “Danubian” Galați Association.

The collection of uniforms will be completed by the uniform of the Honor Guard of the Gendarmerie, the uniform with which Galatians can see the soldiers every year at the December 1st parade.
