Transplanted trees on a street in Sibiu, to protect them during the modernization works

--

Sibiu City Hall transplanted four trees on a street in the city on Thursday, with the aim of protecting them during the modernization works.

The event took place on Marburg street in the Tineretului district, the trees being moved nearby, on Lisbona street.

“The modernization works of Marburg Street in the Tineretului district have started. These include the relocation of utility networks, which would have affected the trees on this street. To save them, Sibiu City Hall, through the Parks Service, once again used the transplant solution. Thus, 3 linden trees and a birch tree were moved to Lisbon Street, in the same neighborhood. The trees will therefore continue to grow in the new location”, Sibiu City Hall informed on Friday morning.

Context

We remind you that transplantation was used for the first time in Sibiu in 2021, when approximately 80 trees on Calea Dumbrăvii, which was then undergoing modernization, were moved to other areas of the city. At the end of last year, 11 lime trees on Semaforului street were also moved to Ștefan cel Mare street, in preparation for the rehabilitation works of this street.
