Alba: A woman hit a child with her car on a pedestrian crossing, then left the scene of the accident. The woman was found by the police, after the victim’s father complained about the act

An eight-year-old child who was crossing a street in Alba Iulia on the pedestrian crossing was hit by a car that was moving behind and whose driver did not stop. The victim’s father notified the Police about the accident. The driver involved, a woman, was found and is under criminal investigation.

The accident took place on Toporaşilor street in the municipality of Alba Iulia.

“The traffic police in Alba Iulia were alerted, by a 34-year-old man, from the town of Fenes, Alba county, regarding the fact that his daughter was the victim of a road accident, and the driver allegedly left the scene of the accident . As a result of the accident, the minor suffered minor bodily injuries and was transported to the hospital by her parents, for the provision of medical care”, informs the Alba County Police on Thursday.

The police officers who investigated this case found that a 35-year-old woman from Alba Iulia, while driving a car, made a reverse maneuver and injured an 8-year-old girl, who was crossing legally the street.

The driver was later identified by the police. She was tested with the breathalyzer, which indicated that she was not under the influence of alcohol. The police are continuing the investigations in a criminal file aimed at committing the crimes of culpable bodily harm and leaving the scene of the accident.
