Unprecedented investments in the education system in Alba Iulia, through PNRR. Projects financed with over 85 million lei from European funds

20 kindergartens, schools and high schools in the city are modernized and equipped by the local administration, with the financing of over 85 million lei, non-refundable European funds

The financing obtained by the Albaiulian local administration, of over 85 million lei, non-refundable money, diametrically changes the quality of the educational act in the pre-university education units in Alba Iulia. The European funds accessed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan allow, today, major, unprecedented investments, both in high-quality equipment: furniture and teaching materials, including digital ones, as well as in the modernization and energy efficiency of 20 kindergartens, schools and high schools from town.

To increase the energy efficiency of 7 educational buildings in Alba Iulia, the local administration has around 65 million lei at its disposal, money that is invested, punctually, according to the needs of each school unit, the main ones being thermal insulation works, changing the lighting systems heating times with more efficient, environmentally friendly and, last but not least, more economical ones. Moreover, the main objective for which the European funds were granted concerns precisely the increase in energy efficiency and the reduction of energy consumption for heating between 30-60%.

The works are already in progress at the “Dorin Pavel” Technical College, starting with body A of the building, with further work to be done on bodies B, E and F, as well as at the “Red Riding Hood” Kindergarten. The Kindergarten with Extended Program no. 11, Kindergarten with Extended Program no. 12, as well as the “Alexandru Domșa” Technological High School and the “Horea, Cloșca and Crișan” National College.

Over 21 million lei for equipping and digitizing 20 educational units in Alba Iulia: furniture, teaching materials and digital equipment

The biggest investment in equipping schools in Alba Iulia is today a reality as a result of the financing obtained by the local administration following access to non-refundable funds accessible through the same Recovery and Resilience Plan. Practically, in the same period, both the energy rehabilitation projects and those through which the modernization of the schools in Alba Iulia were considered, in terms of equipment and digitization, were submitted and won.

No less than 21 million lei will materialize in furniture and equipment to equip the rooms and laboratories of the following educational units: “Dionisie Pop Marțian” Economic College, “Apulum” Technical College, “Horea, Cloșca and Crișan” College, Orthodox Theological Seminary “Saint Simion Ștefan”, “Regina Maria” Art High School Alba Iulia, Technological High School “Dorin Pavel”, Technological High School “Alexandru Domșa”, High School with Sports Program Alba Iulia, High School “Vasile Goldiș”, High School ” Avram Iancu”, “Ion Agârbiceanu” High School, “Mihai Eminescu” High School, “Dumbrava Mununata” Extended Program Kindergarten, Extended Program Kindergarten no. 13, Kindergarten with Extended Program no. 16, Kindergarten with Extended Program no. 8, Kindergarten with Extended Program “Red Riding Hood”, Kindergarten with Extended Program Step by Step no. 12, Kindergarten with Extended Program no. 11 and the Alba Iulia Children’s Palace.

Thus, beyond the newly created or under construction units, nurseries and kindergartens, the over 85 million lei, European funds accessed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, represent the largest investment in the modernization and endowment of pre-university education units in Alba Iulia, ever realized at the level of the municipality.”, said the mayor of Alba Iulia, Gabriel Pleșa.
