Garage for the price of a studio apartment. A real estate ad from Brasov has gone viral on the internet: an owner is asking 25,000 euros for a 22 square meter garage, built of wood. The jokes about the price did not intimidate him: the man says that his phone rings all the time and he already has tempting offers.

Prices for a studio apartment in the area start from 30,000 euros. Marian, the owner of the garage, decided the selling price after consulting with a real estate agent. Even if, initially, he was incredulous, now he knows that he made the right decision: he says that his phone is ringing non-stop.

Marian Panait, garage owner: I am in talks with two people and someone else from Timişoara wants to make me an even better offer: a 10-year lease with the rent paid in advance.

The property is listed, has 22 square meters and can be expanded. Some customers even said that they want to live in the area so much that they are thinking of making a permanent residence here. They also have utilities at the gate.

Braşov, among the cities with the highest real estate prices

Marian Panait, garage owner: We had two or three families from Braşov who wanted to buy it to turn it into a studio because there is a crisis on the real estate market.

Andreea Toderică, real estate consultant: In new areas, at residential blocks, an underground parking can be sold from 5,500 euros, and a ground parking can reach up to 20,000, 25,000 euros.

Brasov is among the cities with the highest real estate prices, after Cluj Napoca. The average price asked for the sale reached approximately 1,620 euros, per usable square meter.
