Pensioners with pensions of up to 3,500 lei will benefit, starting from April 1, 2024, from free public transport in Ploiești. The local elected officials approved, with a majority of votes, a draft decision by which the ceiling for granting the gratuity increased from 2,500 lei to 3,500 lei.

The local elected representatives of Ploiești approved, with a majority of votes, the increase of the ceiling up to which pensioners benefit from free of charge.
According to the management of TCE Ploiești, approximately 20,000 pensioners currently benefit from free public transport.
By increasing the ceiling from 2,500 to 3,500 lei, approximately 35,000 pensioners from Ploiești would benefit from free of charge.
“This facility does not aim, in total, to increase the subsidy considering that by increasing the ceiling, even if the amount paid by UAT for gratuities increases, the value of the monthly compensation invoice decreases”, stated Alexandri Nicolae, director of TCE Ploiești.
