Starting from April 1, 2024, CFR Călători will become operational at CFR Călători the service of replacing rail transport with buses to ensure the travel of passengers on the distance Cluj Napoca – Oradea, under the conditions of the start of works on the electrification / modernization of the railway line LOT 2 Aghireș – Poieni by infrastructure manager – CNCF CFR SA.

Once the public procurement procedures for car passenger transport services have been completed in compliance with the provisions of the legislative framework – GEO 131/29.12.2023 regarding the replacement of rail transport services with passenger car transport services and Law no. 99/2016 regarding sectoral procurements, CFR Călători will provide from April 1, 2024 passenger car transport services both on the entire distance Cluj Napoca – Oradea, as well as on sectors within the section that will also alternate with rail passenger transport services on relations Cluj Napoca – Aghireș and Oradea – Alesd.

Also, the operation of these services will be conditioned by the subsequent achievements/communications of CNCF CFR SA.

Trains to Aghireșu and Alesd

Given the fact that train traffic is permanently closed on the Aleșd – Bratca – Huedin – Poieni – Aghireș sector on the Cluj Napoca – Oradea section by CFR SA, no direct trains can be operated between Cluj Napoca – Oradea.

In this context, CFR Călători continues to operate on the sectors on this section on which rail traffic is carried out, such as Cluj Napoca – Aghireș and return and Oradea – Aleșd and return, as follows:

· 5 trains between Cluj Napoca and Aghireș

· 6 trains between Aghireș and Cluj Napoca

· 5 trains between Oradea and Alesd

· 5 trains between Alesd and Oradea
