I PLOW. Social workers celebrated World Social Work Day at “Aurel Vlaicu” University in Arad. The event was organized by prof. univ. dr. Alina Breaz, president of the Association for Proactive Education and Laura Andreș, president of the Oaza Association, in partnership with the Faculty of Educational Sciences, Psychology and Social Assistance of UAV.

“Living Library”, the generic name under which the entire event was held, brought into debate some of the most important topics in the field, during the 7 workshops organized during the entire day of March 27. “The social worker in the Emergency Reception Unit”, “The drug user: victim or criminal” or “Social worker in the penitentiary” are just some of the topics discussed during this event.

“The Living Library is about people who care about other people, about people who have dedicated their lives to helping those in need. This event is dedicated to them, to those who understood that social assistance is more than a profession, it is a moral duty towards the less favored” said UAV rector, Ramona Lile.

The festive opening of the event was attended by: the rector of UAV, Dr. Ramona Lile, Priest Gligor Gheorghe Vicar of the Eparchy-Archdiocese of Arad, the president of the CJA, Iustin Cionca, the sub-prefect of Arad, Marius Mircea Sulincean, the vice-mayors of Arad, Ilie Cheșa and Lazăr Faur, the head of ISJ Arad , Marius Gondor and ISJ deputy, Gianina Coraș, parliamentarians and heads of decentralized services from Arad and Timiș counties.
