The policemen of the Office for the Protection of the Forestry and Fisheries Fund confiscated a semi-trailer worth €15,000 and the amount of 32.83 cubic meters of wood material, following a notification regarding possible irregularities in the forestry regime.
In fact, during the previous night, namely on March 27, at around 00.30, the police of the municipality of Reghin were alerted, by means of a call to 112, regarding a possible illegal transport of wooden material, the car assembly in question taking refuge in the yard of a commercial company in the same municipality.
The police officers of the Public Order Service – Office for the Protection of the Forestry and Fisheries Fund went to the indicated location and identified the car assembly, consisting of a tractor head and a semi-trailer, in the two accompanying notices showing the amount of 7 cubic meters of wooden material (edge-cut timber from the spruce species).
The vehicle was driven to the headquarters of the Reghin Forestry Detour, and following the measurements it was found that it actually carried the amount of 32.83 cubic meters of wood material, 25.83 cubic meters more than the amount provided in the accompanying documents.
Thus, the police have drawn up a criminal file under the aspect of committing the offense provided for by the Forestry Code, respectively, “the transport by any means of transport of wooden materials in a volume of more than 10 m3, unaccompanied by specific transport documents”.
At the same time, the unavailability was ordered in order to confiscate the semi-trailer in the amount of €15,000, as well as the entire amount of wooden material transported.
