Two Wizz Air planes collided at Suceava Airport. They had passengers on board VIDEO

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon at “Ștefan cel Mare” Airport in Suceava.

Two aircraft of the Wizz Air company, which were on the airport platform, collided slightly, the wing of one plane hitting the back of the other.

The Airbus A320-200 aircraft, registration 9H-WBV, was preparing to take off to Dortmund, operating route W6 4692. The aircraft was being towed from the parking position to the taxiway and – after being set in motion – struck the horizontal stabilizer with the wing of another Wizz Air plane, which was parked.

It is the Airbus A320 aircraft registered HA-LWZ, which should have performed, on Tuesday evening, the route Suceava – London Luton.

It is not known, for now, how many passengers were on the plane that was leaving for Dortmund.

According to a statement from the Wizz Air company, all passengers “are unharmed”.

“Wizz Air confirms that its flight W6 4692 from Suceava to Dortmund on 14 March 2023, while taxiing out of the parking position, collided with the right horizontal stabilizer of another WIZZ aircraft, which was parked on an adjacent position with no passengers on board. All passengers of the Suceava-Dortmund flight are unharmed and have disembarked safely. Wizz Air is providing a replacement aircraft for the affected flight and will transport the passengers to their destination today. Wizz Air Air apologizes to affected passengers and assures all customers that the safety and security of its passengers, crew and aircraft remains the airline’s top priority.” – it is stated in the press release of the company.
