Friday, May 10, starting at 8:00 p.m., some of the most talented and beloved instrumentalists and performers from the Republic of Moldova – the “Lăutarii” National Orchestra from Chişinău, together with maestro Nicolae Botgros, will take the stage in Piața Unirii in Oradea for an extraordinary concert, with an “Altfel” repertoire.

For over 50 years, generations of musicians have written the history of the “Lăutarii” National Orchestra from Chisinau. The orchestra was founded in 1970, within the State Philharmonic of the Moldovan SSR, by the performer Nicolae Sulac, the conductor being the composer and violinist Mircea Oţel, then the trumpeter Gheorghe Usaci. Due to his skills as a violinist, Nicolae Botgros was appointed conductor of the “Lăutarii” Popular Orchestra in 1978.

During his career, the master conductor Nicolae Botgros recorded 2 albums, but collaborated on hundreds of musical materials recorded with popular music performers, such as Maria Ciobanu, Sofia Vicoveanca, Irina Loghin, Dinu Iancu Sălăjan, Zinaida Julea, Ştefan Bănică Jr.

The show “Fiddlers from Chisinau ALTFEL” will bring us to Unirii Square a different kind of music: classical, pop, jazz, café concert, together with maestro Nicolae Botgros, the “Fiddlers” National Orchestra from Chisinau and other great performers from Romania and the Republic of Moldova – Monica Anghel, Paula Seling, Vali Boghean and Brio Sonores.

The event “Celebrating Europe Day!” is organized by Visit Oradea, Oradea City Hall and Bihor County Council.
