Last month, Claudio Zanon, an Italian oncological surgeon, spoke about the type of cancer that Prince William’s wife may be suffering from. He claims that Kate had part of her intestine removed. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy to prevent possible metastases in the body. Claudio Zanon also added that she might have a colon tumor. He did not specify whether or not he was part of the medical team that operated on William’s wife!
“From what was written in the newspapers and Princess Kate Middleton herself said, the operation she underwent for abdominal cancer, followed by an ileostomy, could be caused by a tumor of the left colon or rectum.
We can say this because temporary ileostomies are normally performed to protect surgical anastomoses which are more difficult to heal given the vascularity and inflammation of the tissues involved.”, the Italian oncologist told Quotidiano.net.
