Often injured, François-Xavier Fumu Tamuzo decided to end his football career in mid-April, at only 29 years old. The striker of the Laval team, trained in Auxerre, decided to take action in court against Pfizer and BioNTech to establish whether the vaccines administered to him during the Covid pandemic are related to his injuries, RMC Sport reports, News.ro transmits.

Although François-Xavier Fumu Tamuzo does not present himself as an anti-vaccinist or a follower of conspiracy theories, he “would like to understand why (his body) stopped working”, as he told France Bleu Mayenne, which disclosed the information.

In mid-April, the 29-year-old Auxerre-trained striker, who was under contract with Stade Lavallois until June, decided to retire. The former QRM, Béziers and Maritimo (Portugal) player has suffered a series of serious injuries in recent seasons. Knee pain, tendinopathy and rupture of the Achilles tendon, all appeared after he was injected with anti-Covid vaccines. On July 30, 2021, Fumu Tamuzo was vaccinated with a dose of Pfizer, before receiving a second dose a month later.

“For two years, my client has been in a medical ordeal and no one has expressed doubt about the adverse effects of the vaccine,” his lawyer, Eric Lanzarone, told France Bleu Mayenne. “We know they exist today, no one can deny this. And as these concerns arose, François-Xavier went to internal medicine specialists who eventually voiced that doubt. It must be clarified”.

For his part, the player spoke about his difficult everyday life: “Long walks are barely bearable, and jogging is impossible for me. The moment I want to make a movement, for example going up the stairs, climbing a shelf or even going down the stairs, the pain is intense.”

The press in Mayenne notes that a hearing will take place on July 2, at the judicial court in Paris. The court will then decide whether or not to appoint a group of experts. In this case, this group will be tasked with determining whether or not there is a causal link between the player’s injuries and the vaccines he received.
