The results of the last auction organized by the General Supply Authority of Egypt (GASC): 360,000 tons of Russian wheat and 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat were purchased. Today, Thursday – May 9, the results of the latest international wheat auction organized by Egypt were displayed. GASC decided to buy Russian wheat at the price of $255/ton Free on Board (FOB) and Romanian wheat at $259.5/ton FOB.
The Ameropa company managed to sell 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat to Egypt. Despite the high competition, Romania managed to sell cereals, in addition to Russian wheat, which was offered at the lowest price. The Russians sold 360,000 tons of wheat at a higher price than the previous auction, according to Latifundist.

Egypt’s GASC purchased 360,000 tons of wheat of Russian origin at the auction held yesterday, Wednesday – May 8, market operators report.

Egypt contracted six lots of 60,000 tonnes each at $255/t FOB for delivery between June 7-17 or June 18-28. That price is $20 higher than the lowest Russian bids at the April 16 auction.
Also, Egypt contracted 60,000 tons of Romanian wheat at a price of $259.5/ton FOB with delivery between June 18-28 from the Port of Constanța.

Initial offers showed higher prices for Romanian wheat at $278/ton FOB, $37.40/ton higher than in the previous auction. Egypt bought 60,000 tons of wheat of Romanian origin at the auction held in March, when the grain cost $234.50/ton FOB. Before the end of the auction, traders said that the supplier Al Dahra, among all participating companies, offered Romanian wheat at the lowest price.
