Intervention of the SMURD helicopter on DN 58, following a road accident – Resita.ro

The road accident, in which a van and a truck carrying wood were involved, took place today between the towns of Păltiniș and Brebu, on National Road 58.

A man in his 60s suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital by the SMURD helicopter after the van he was in with three other people collided with a truck. The accident occurred on National Road 58, which connects Reșita with Caransebeș, between the towns of Păltiniș and Brebu. Firefighters from the Caransebeș Detachment intervened at the scene, with a fire truck with extrication mode and an SMURD ambulance, an ambulance from the Caraș-Severin County Ambulance Service, a crew from the Caraș-Severin County Police Inspectorate and the SMURD helicopter.

“Five people were involved in the road accident. Of the four people in the truck, two needed medical attention. A man, approximately 25 years old, was picked up by the SAJ ambulance, with injuries to his lower limbs and transported to the hospital. A second victim, a man in his 60s with head trauma, received medical attention from the EMS crew and was then picked up and transported to hospital by the EMS helicopter.”said the spokesperson of the “Semenic” Emergency Situations Inspectorate, Iulia Rusan.

The circumstances in which the accident took place are to be established by the police after the completion of the investigations.
