Romania’s Independence Day is an occasion of national pride, when we remember the courage and determination of our ancestors to gain independence from Ottoman rule in 1877. And last but not least, Victory Day marks the end of a devastating conflict and the triumph of peace over tyranny, commemorating the sacrifice of those who fought for freedom in World War II.
