With only a month left until the local and European parliamentary elections, the parties are making calculations upon calculations and estimates regarding the ever-closer election.
On Wednesday, the TNL regional conference “Europe in every locality” took place, organized by TNL Bucharest.
Present at the liberal youth event, PNL First Vice-President Rareş Bogdan referred both to the elections for the Capital City Hall and to the European Parliament elections.
Rareş Bogdan declared on Wednesday that, if they do what they have to, Sebastian Burduja will be between 24% and 28%. And so the PNL has a “historic chance” in the capital.
On the other hand, he also stated that the extremist AUR party was brought to a score that will not give them more than 5 MEPs, and PNL is fighting for the first place in the MEP elections, according to news.ro.

“I know it looked like he was getting a second chance. I tell you that if we do the right thing and if we take the campaign to the level at which it started, with Sebastian Burduja revving the engines, we have a historic chance for the Capital. And I’m not just saying it out of respect and love for Sebastian (..) but because this year, the elections in Bucharest will be won by less than 30%.
Because the three important candidates have almost similar electoral bases, which can lead them to a difference that is strictly related to mobilization and the last days of the electoral campaign”, said the first vice-president of the PNL, Rareş Bogdan, at the TNL regional conference “Europe in each locality”, organized by TNL Bucharest.
Rareș Bogdan: “A restart is needed”
“If we do the right thing, Sebastian will be between 24% and 28%, just like Gabriela Firea and Nicusor Dan will be. He is the best prepared among them, because the other two proved it. A restart is needed”, he continued, according to the quoted source.
At the same time, Rareş Bogdan chose to mention that “Nicusor Dan was an excellent man from civil society”, but that “he was and is a calamity, a disaster as a manager of a Capital that is far from a European capital, as it shows today”.
Last but not least, the PNL first vice-president also referred to Cristian Popescu Piedone. “I didn’t talk about the fourth candidate because I consider him to have no chance and in general because I don’t talk about marginal people, if it doesn’t matter,” said the PNL official.
The first vice-president of the PNL once again brought up the name of the current general mayor of the Capital, Nicușor Dan, at the event organized by the TNL. “I want to convince all the liberals why it is very important to explain to the voters of Nicuşor Dan from 4 years ago that at this moment PNL has a candidate, a viable, valid candidate, and who must receive their votes because he knows what he has done in partnership with the future government, in partnership with the General Council that we will dominate”, the MEP also declared.

Regarding the European Parliament elections, Rareş Bogdan emphasized that “fortunately, with an intelligent strategy and the awakening of European sentiment, we managed to lead the extremist AUR party to a score that will not give them more than five MEPs”.
Bogdan chose to mention that the PNL is fighting for first place, in the June 9 elections.
“Let’s hope that the pro-Russian party will not enter the Parliament at all. Romania has a chance. PNL has a chance. Five years ago I said: PNL will win the European Parliament elections.
Many were skeptical. Now I say that the PNL is fighting for first place at the end of June 9. And if we don’t take the first place, we will 100% take the second place, but we are fighting for the 1st place”, he added, according to the quoted source.
