It’s happening in Botosani! The lists of AUR candidates for the County Council were challenged in court

The lists of candidates of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) party for the County Council were also challenged in court. One of the members of the AUR county organization, Mariana Cristisor, sued County Electoral Office, on the grounds that the BEJ would not have invalidated the list of county councilors, which was not signed by the general secretary of the organization. The woman initially filed a complaint with the BEJ, but without success.

BEJ members met on Saturday and analyzed the appeal filed by Mariana Cristişor, rejecting it on the grounds that the law does not require that the list of candidates be signed by the secretary of the county organization.

“At the time of submission of candidacies, only the proposals of the leadership of the county organizations of the political parties participating in the elections are analyzed, without these proposals being conditional on the countersignature by other persons, in this case the secretary of the county organization, as specified in the content of the appeal, through reference to the party statute. Moreover, according to the power of attorney submitted at the time of the settlement of the appeal by the representative of the AUR party in the County Office, Mrs. Cîrligeanu Ariadna-Elena is empowered to exercise the powers of the party president in Botoșani county by the president of the AUR party, under the title of interim president of the county organization”it is stated in the decision of the Electoral Office.

And the Botoşani Court rejected, on Tuesday, the challenge to the electoral law filed by Mariana Cristişor.
