Volodymyr Zelensky, the target of an assassination attempt directed by the FSB – Two State Guard colonels were arrested

The Security Service of Ukraine announces the interruption of the plans of the FSB of the Russian Federation to eliminate the President of Ukraine and other representatives of the highest military and political leadership of the state, the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office announce, according to Ukrainskapravda.

Two State Guard colonels were found guilty of treason and aiding a terrorist attack.

“Counterintelligence and SBU investigators thwarted FSB plans to eliminate the President of Ukraine and other representatives of the state’s top military and political leadership.

The plans were implemented by a network of agents, which was previously exposed by the Security Service of Ukraine with the assistance of the leadership of the State Security Office. The network, whose activities were monitored by Moscow’s FSB, included two UDO colonels who “leaked” secret information from the Russian Federation.

Thus, the enemy was actively developing plans to eliminate President Volodymyr Zelenskyi. One of the tasks of the FSB intelligence network was to look for executioners among the military, close to the protection of the president, who would take the head of state hostage and then kill him.

In addition to Zelenskyi, the enemy planned to eliminate the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Malyuk, the head of the GUR Kirill Budanov and other high-ranking officials.”

SBU chief Vasyl Malyuk says only a limited number of people knew about this particular operation to unmask enemy agents, and he personally oversaw its progress. According to him, the terrorist attack was supposed to be “a gift for Putin before the inauguration”.

The agents planned to liquidate Budanov before Easter

In particular, according to the special service, the agents planned to liquidate Budanov before Easter.

The enemy’s plan was as follows: first, the recruited agent was to observe the movement of the guard and pass information to the enemy. According to the coordinates of the house where the official was supposed to be, a missile attack was planned. Then they would attack the people who remained in the affected area with a drone. After that, the Russians planned to target with another missile, including destroying traces of the drone’s use.

Armament for the agent was provided by Colonel UDO, who personally brought FPV drones, RPG-7 charges and MON-90 anti-personnel mines to Kiev. The SBU recorded both the movements of the UDO colonel to another region of Ukraine for drones and explosives, as well as the conversations of the potential author of the terrorist attack with the “curator” from the FSB.

The representatives of the FSB of the Russian Federation identified one of the private houses on the territory of the Kiev region as the object of the invasion, where a high-ranking Ukrainian official should have been, OGP notes.

However, such intentions were promptly revealed and documented by Ukrainian law enforcement agencies. In this way, it was possible to prevent the completion of the crime, as well as the apprehension of the suspects.

During the searches of the place of residence, things and documents with evidence of criminal activity were found.

Both inmates were arrested.
