According to the same sources, two colonels were allegedly arrested for being part of a network of agents of the Russian Security Service, FSB. The two colonels are suspected of looking for people from the president’s bodyguards, willing to take him hostage and kill him.

According to the SBU, Kirilo Budanov, the head of the GUR, would have been the target of the assassins before the Orthodox Easter. The assassination plan provided for the infiltration of a book for disclosing the location of the head of the GUR, which would later be bombed.
