A terrible tragedy marked the premature end of a young Romanian in Italy. Ștefan Velea, only 20 years old, met his end in a tragic accident on Easter night, after spending an evening with friends.

While traveling on the provincial road in Lisciano, on the border between Marche and Abruzzo, Stefan’s car hit the railing of a bridge and fell into a precipice, according to observernews.

A 20-year-old Romanian met his end in Italy

According to the information provided by Corriere Adriatico, the young man was driving on the provincial road when, for reasons that are not yet known, he collided with the railing of a bridge and fell into a ten-meter deep chasm, the car ending up in the river bed.

On a night when many were celebrating the Resurrection, Ștefan Velea, a young Romanian only 20 years old, unexpectedly met his end on the Lisciano provincial road, on the border between Marche and Abruzzo, in the small town of Gabbiano di Civitella del Tronto, from Abruzzo.

According to observernews, the Romanian lived in the city of Ascoli in the Italian region of Marche.

Ștefan Velea’s parents became concerned when the young man did not return home until Sunday morning, triggering a desperate search with other family members.

The tragic discovery came at around 10am when the young man’s uncle found the car overturned. A devastating sight unfolded in front of him as he saw the destroyed bridge railing and the car with the young man’s lifeless body at the bottom of the chasm.

Stefan had spent time with friends before the tragedy

According to Italian media, the young man was returning home that night after a meeting with friends when his car left the road and fell into the riverbed, a short distance from the town of Gabbiano. Rescue operations were laborious, and the young man’s body was recovered from the wrecked car only on Sunday afternoon.

The authorities, including the Carabinieri of Civitella del Tronto, quickly mobilized to investigate the tragedy and reconstruct the events that led to this tragic loss of life.

Despite all the efforts made by the intervention teams, the doctors could not do anything for Ștefan. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
