Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), the political formation led by George Simion, registered 43 candidates for this year’s European Parliament elections. The list is opened by Cristian Terheș, current MEP, followed by senator Claudiu Târziu and lawyer Gheorghe Piperea. On the eighth position is Laura Gherasim, an unknown at the political level.

Laura Gherasim is married to a businessman, Daniel Gherasim, and in the period 2003-2006 she worked in TVR, as a presenter on various entertainment shows, at that time having the name Laura Mihăluș. On April 5, 2024, Laura Gherasim completed the declaration of wealth, as a candidate for the European Parliament elections from the AUR.

From the document consulted by Fanatik it turns out that the Gerasim family owns an impressive real estate portfolio. Thus, it has an inner-city plot of 1,200 square meters in Bucharest (bought in 2024) and six other inner-city plots in Arad, bought in 2018, with areas of 2,261 square meters, 33,625 sqm, 11,093 sqm, 8,130 sqm, 2,811 sqm and 3,517 sqm.

And the building section is extremely consistent, all buildings being in Bucharest. Thus, the Gerasims own a commercial space and an office with an area of ​​78.78 square meters, bought in 2012, a commercial building of 112 square meters, bought in 2024, another commercial building of 60 square meters, also bought this year .

Also in 2024, the Gerasims purchased two more commercial spaces, of 73 square meters and 35 square meters, respectively, as well as an annex of 35 square meters. They also own houses and terraces with a total area of ​​419.63 square meters, bought in 2022. In the same year, the Gerasim family also bought four parking spaces and a speaker.

Laura Gherasim sold a plot of land for over 4 million euros

Laura Gherasim and her life partner have a Mercedes Benz car, manufactured in 2017. Under the heading of goods in the form of precious metals, Laura Gherasim added that she owns gold watches worth 75,000 euros, acquired between 2000 and 2024, as well as gold jewelry, worth 100,000 euros, acquired in the same period.

The most important information in the wealth declaration completed by Laura Gherasim is the one under the heading “movable or immovable property disposed of in the last 12 months”. Thus, the AUR candidate for the European Parliament elections noted that, in 2023, she sold a plot of land to the company Lidl Romania, the amount obtained being huge, 4,176,300 euros.

Despite the impressive transaction, the Gherasim family has only one bank account, in which there are 1,750,000 lei (approximately 350,000 euros). The Gherasims have no placements, direct investments and loans granted, but no debts in the form of debits, mortgages, guarantees issued for the benefit of a third party or goods purchased in the leasing system.

The AUR candidate for the European Parliament collected dividends of over 100,000 euros

In the column of annual income, Laura Gherasim added that she received a salary of 38,000 lei, without mentioning from which company. Instead, he noted that he received dividends of 540,000 lei (approximately 110,000 euros) from the company ACG Construction&Projects SRL, in which Laura Gherasim is the sole partner, but also the administrator/general manager, according to the declaration of interests.

ACG Construction&Projects SRL specializes in engineering and technical consulting activities and has signed several contracts with the state. The company’s best year was 2023, according to data consulted by Fanatik at the Ministry of Finance, when Laura Gherasim’s company ticked off a net profit of 5,596,553 lei on a huge turnover of 39,546,962 lei. In 2022, the company recorded a net profit of 1,198,093 lei and a turnover of 13,616,830 lei.

In 2021, ACG Construction&Projects SRL recorded a loss of 161,006 lei on a turnover of approximately 2.2 million lei. Laura Gherasim’s husband did not have any salary in the last year, but received 15,600 euros from Vodafone for renting a property. In 2013, the Constanta newspaper Replica revealed that Daniel Gherasim is a mason and that he is a partner in a construction company.
