The 2023-2024 UEFA Futsal Champions season has come to an end! Today, Sunday, May 5, the Spanish teams Barcelona and Palma will fight with the most important trophy on the table!

The super-confrontation between Barcelona and Palma is from 20:00 on digisport.ro and Prima Sport 4.

Friday’s semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League Final Four, hosted by the stunning Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan, Armenia, were a total spectacle!

It is only the second time in the 23 editions of the UEFA Futsal Champions League that one nation has provided both finalists!

The two Spanish teams Palma and Barcelona won thrilling semi-finals against Portuguese opponents Benfica Lisbon and Sporting Lisbon on Friday.

Despite missing some key players – suspended or injured, trophy holders Palma made a dramatic comeback after being 1-0, 3-1 and 4-2 down! It was a tie, 4-4, including after the two overtime periods, Palma prevailing in the penalty shootout.

Barça beat Sporting 5-4 in a game where no team has ever led by more than one goal!

Sergio Lozano, Barça captain: “Above all, it is a pleasure to be here. We are facing the current champions and it will be a match between the last two champions. It will be a battle. Palma is a tough team, they play very well, they have two great goalkeepers. They changed a lot of players from last season, but they still managed to reach the final, a performance for which they deserve congratulations. We deserve to be in this final because we’ve had a lot of injury problems throughout the season and we haven’t stopped believing.”

Carlos Barrón, Captain Palma: “Lozano is more of a friend than a rival! He has overcome many injuries and is here again, which speaks volumes for his strength. He deserves to play this final because he is a great player and he shows that once again. We are ready if the final goes to penalties, but of course we want to avoid that and win. I played very well against Benfica. We showed our courage and quality, but now we need more of the same against a tough opponent like Barça.”

After peaking at the right time in an injury-ravaged previous season, Jesus Velasco’s Barça can become the second club to become five-time European champions, after compatriots Inter FS. The Catalans are at the top of the Spanish ranking, Palma being only in the first eight teams that will take part in the play-off. Antonio Vadillo-led Palma beat Barça 5-4 in September, but in two meetings in March, the Blaugrana prevailed 1-0 in the league and on penalties in the Copa del Rey semi-finals en route to victory in in Cartagena.

From 16:00, the small final, Sporting – Benfica, is scheduled.
