PHOTO/VIDEO. Terrible accident, with six victims and four destroyed cars, in the neighboring county

A serious traffic accident occurred on National Road 18, within the radius of Moisei, in Maramureș county. Four cars were involved in the accident. The driver of a VW Passat was seriously injured. Five other people (three adults and two children) suffered minor injuries. One of the drivers involved consumed alcoholic beverages before getting behind the wheel. What the Police say: “The police officers intervened in a traffic accident on DN 18. Following the investigations, it was established that a 50-year-old man from Moisei, who was driving a car within the radius of his home town, allegedly tried to overtake, entering into a head-on collision with a car driven from the opposite direction by a 28-year-old man. Following the impact, the car was projected into another car which, in turn, hit a fourth car.

Three people were transported to the hospital for medical treatment. All drivers were tested with the breathalyzer device, the result being 0.70 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air in the case of the driver who allegedly tried to overtake. Biological blood samples were collected from him, in order to establish the degree of alcoholemia. A criminal case has been drawn up in the case and investigations are continuing”.
