On May 1st, around 7:45 p.m., police officers from the Road Safety Service were alerted to the fact that a road accident occurred on Mangaliei road.

The policemen dispatched to the scene found that the impact occurred between two cars, driven by two women, aged 21 and 24, respectively.

Following the road accident, the 21-year-old woman was slightly injured.

Both female drivers were tested with the breathalyzer, in the case of the 21-year-old woman, the result was 0.58 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.

After testing with the device provided, in its case there were indications regarding the possible presence of psychoactive substances.

We note that this is not evidence in the criminal case, the person being taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to accurately establish the consumption of prohibited substances and the alcohol level in the blood.

Other accidents with drivers under the influence of alcohol

On May 1st, at around 4:28 p.m., police officers from the Constanța Municipal Police – Municipal Road Safety Service were alerted to the fact that a traffic accident (bumper) occurred on Prelungirea Liliacului street.

The police officers dispatched to the scene determined that the impact occurred between two cars.

Following the checks carried out, it was found that the man behind the wheel of one of them has been suspended from exercising the right to drive vehicles on public roads for the current period.

The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 0.80 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.

Later, he was taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

Also on May 1, police officers from the Techirghiol City Police – Mereni Police Station identified a 63-year-old man who was driving a car on Victor Climescu Street, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The man was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 0.96 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.

Later, he was taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

On the same day, police officers from the Road Safety Service identified a 28-year-old man who was driving a car on Portului street in the municipality of Mangalia, being under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

The man was tested with the breathalyzer, the result being 0.69 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.

Later, he was taken to a medical facility, for the collection of biological samples, in order to determine the blood alcohol level.

In all cases, a criminal investigation file was drawn up.

Police actions

On May 1, policemen from the Murfatlar City Police carried out an action to maintain order and public peace.

Following the detected irregularities, 8 contraventional sanctions were applied, totaling approximately 4,000 lei.

On May 1, police officers from the Medgidia Municipality Police carried out an action to prevent acts of violence.

Following the detected irregularities, 8 contraventional sanctions were applied, totaling approximately 11,000 lei.

On May 1st, police officers from the Năvodari City Police carried out an action to ensure the climate of order and public safety.

As a result of the detected irregularities, 10 contraventional sanctions were applied, totaling approximately 1,500 lei.

On May 1st, police officers from Mangalia Municipality Police – Costinești Police Station 3 carried out an action to increase road safety.

Following the detected irregularities, 4 contraventional sanctions were applied, totaling more than 2,000 lei.

A registration certificate was also withdrawn.

On May 1st, policemen from the Public Order and Safety Service, together with policemen from the Mangalia Municipality Police, carried out an action to maintain order and public peace, increase road safety and prevent traffic and consumption of prohibited substances.

Following the detected irregularities, 6 contraventional sanctions were applied, totaling more than 2,500 lei.
