Deputy Viorel Focsa is again accused of assaulting his wife, and a protection order was issued in his name. We remind you that in January the parliamentarian was sued by his wife for assault, and a criminal case was opened against him. Following the incident from that time, AUR announced that it had expelled him from the party.

The Constanța County Police announced that on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, around 02:20, the police from Năvodari were informed by a 51-year-old woman that she had been physically assaulted by her husband, a 58-year-old man.

“The police officers dispatched to the scene drew up a risk assessment form, as a result of which an imminent risk emerged, and a provisional protection order was issued. In the case, a criminal investigation file was drawn up for the commission of the crime of domestic violence”, stated the Constanța Police.

Official sources told HotNews.ro that it is about deputy Dumitru Focșa.

The MP could not be reached for comment.

Criminal file also in January, also for assaulting the wife

And in January 2023, Focsa was complained about by his wife, who called 112, announcing that she had been physically assaulted by her husband, at their home in the town of Lumina.

“Going to the scene, the policemen found that what was reported was confirmed, the persons in question being identified, namely a 57-year-old man, but also the injured person, 49 years old, who showed visible signs of violence. The police requested an ambulance, the medical staff provided specialized care to the woman, she refused to be transported to the hospital. The police immediately drew up the risk assessment form, indicating an imminent risk, but the woman objected to the issuing of a provisional protection order”, Constanța County Police reported at the time, stating that they had opened a criminal case for the crime of domestic violence.

He then posted his own version on Facebook. He blamed his wife, whom he accused of jealousy and claimed that the press was writing “misery” and “untruths”.

“If among my words, more instigated, “you’re driving me crazy with this head!”, after I did this twice, she ran to the phone in the bedroom shouting that she was calling 112, but there, at the door of the bedroom there was another stampede and she was also touched by the door of the room, then I saw that her nose was bleeding.

It all happened in less than a minute. Seeing that the little girl started to scream, I tried to calm the child down, and the wife managed to run to the yard of the neighbor, a PSD member, and alert them. A neighbor with whom we have excellent relations.

I went with the little girl to get her, but she was already on the call with 112. Even though I asked her not to do that, I could hear how she was also calling for an ambulance and police crew. I did not intervene to stop his conversation because there was no point. I let the dialogue end well. I could see her very scared,” the deputy wrote at the time.

Excluded from AUR

A few days later, on January 7, AUR announced that it had expelled deputy Dumitru Viorel Focșa from the party.

“The internal investigation undertaken by the Jury of Honor of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians established that the accusations that appeared in the public space following the scandal triggered at the home of the Focșa family are confirmed. The gesture committed by deputy Dumitru Viorel Focșa is incompatible with the quality of party membership and the dignity of parliamentarian. The Alliance for the Union of Romanians publicly asks the deputy Focșa to respect his commitment and submit his mandate as a parliamentarian, as a result of the sanction received on the party line”, the AUR transmitted at the time.

Currently, Dumitru Focșa – elected MP for Constanța on the AUR lists in 2020 – is an unaffiliated parliamentarian.

Focșa signed up in November 2023 in Ilan Laufer’s party – National Identity Force, a party with which George Simon was in negotiations to create the sovereignist pole. “Starting today, I will be a member of the National Identity Force and I will be part of the AUR group”, announced Dumitru Focsa in the plenary of the Chamber of Deputies, on November 13, 2023.
