The 11 candidates for the Buzău Municipal Council who remained on the AUR lists after the withdrawal, from Tuesday night to Wednesday, of 18 party colleagues, also gave up representing George Simion’s political formation in the June 9 local elections. On Wednesday, at noon, they withdrew their candidacies, as a sign of protest against the interference of the central leadership of the party in the activity of the organization in Buzau.

Accompanied by the former president of the municipal organization, Elena Năstăsoiu, they presented themselves at the headquarters of the Electoral Circumscription Bureau of the Municipality of Buzău, where they completed declarations regarding the withdrawal of candidacies.

They stated that the leaders at the center do not value meritocracy at all and recommend those who would like to enroll in AUR to think again and give up taking this step. “I urge all those who are going to join this party to think again. Let’s not delude ourselves that AUR, at least from the center, promotes meritocracy, because such a thing does not exist. We made the decision, together with all our colleagues, to withdraw from the lists in protest against the policy promoted by the center”, said Dorian Brătulescu, former candidate on the AUR lists, quoted by News.ro. Also, the former candidates of AUR Buzău promised to return in the following days with new revelations about the situation in the organization.
