A tragic accident took place, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, in the province of Guangdong in the south of China.
In total, 28 vehicles were “caught” in the act, according to public broadcaster CCTV and news.ro. The incident “involved 49 people, 19 of whom were confirmed dead,” according to the station. Several people arrived at the hospital following the incident.
Images published on social networks and taken over by local publications capture the images of the disaster. Smoke and flames came out of the hole formed after the highway was damaged.
The cause of the surprise was not immediately determined. Guangdong province has been hit by a series of violent weather events in recent weeks. There were strong floods and a tornado, both events resulting in deaths, according to stirileprotv.ro
