During the working visit to Tirana, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, had several bilateral meetings today. The topics addressed concerned the experience of European integration of Albania and the perspectives of cooperation between the institutions of this country and those of the Republic of Moldova.

With Adea Pirdeni, the Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption, former negotiator of Albania for the Justice and Fundamental Rights chapter, the discussion focused on the reform process in which the governments of the two states are engaged. In particular, the subject of justice reform and the fight against corruption was addressed, as an essential condition for the opening and completion of negotiations with the EU, but also for the well-being of the country and the people.

The current experience of the two countries in the European integration process was discussed at the meeting with Majlinda Dhuka, Minister of State and chief negotiator of Albania for EU accession. The officials spoke about the European integration agenda of the Republic of Moldova, about the explanatory screening procedure in which the institutional teams participate and how we can exchange best practices more effectively.
