King Charles’ ‘very unwell’ condition prompts urgent update to funeral plans: Report

Buckingham Palace is busy examining hundreds of documents about King Charles III’s future funeral as the monarch continues to battle cancer, according to a report. His recovery has not been made public by the palace, but rumor has it that his funeral arrangements are being revised due to his “very unwell” state. Prince William and Kate Middleton have grown worried and anxious about the situation, reports further claim.

Tom Sykes of the Daily Beast on Thursday (April 25) said he spoke to friends of the king in recent weeks about his health, and the most common response was, “It’s not good.”

According to a royal acquaintance, Charles “is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it,” but he is actually “very unwell” despite everyone’s optimism. “More than they are letting on” seemed to be the general consensus.

In addition to the monarch’s health issues, Page Six reported that royal scribe Tina Brown recently wrote that Prince William and Kate Middleton were now “in frightening proximity to ascending the throne just when they had hoped for years to parent their children out of the public eye .”

The king’s funeral arrangements, dubbed ‘Operation Menai Bridge,’ are reportedly being revised, according to Sykes.

According to the Daily Beast, another document detailing what went well during Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in September 2022 and what should be improved for the next time a monarch passes away is also making the rounds.

Every insider stressed that arrangements for the royal funeral are always being reviewed. One former employee in particular acknowledged, though, that Charles’ health issues had given his goals a new focus and drive.

According to the former employee, the plans have been reviewed and updated. “It’s no more than what you would expect given the king has been diagnosed with cancer. But the circulation of them has certainly focused minds,” he said.

The news outlet was informed by an anonymous military officer that the military is preparing for the worst-case scenario. He said the Household Division — which consists of seven Guard regiments — leads the way under Major General James Bowder, and the other units involved are the London district, the Navy or Air Force, the Territorial Army units and the Royal Horse Artillery. Additionally, Charles has a long history of strong ties to the Parachute Regiment — therefore that too will be engaged.

The British sovereign acknowledged that he did not have prostate cancer, which is among the most curable types of the disease. However, he has not disclosed the nature of his diagnosis. Claims that the king is “responding well” to therapy have been made in public by prominent insiders and political pundits, but questions have been raised regarding these statements.
