Close to death after drinking an airport coffee. It’s the incredible story of a 21-year-old woman who works for an airline. She was at Son Sant Joan airport, located near the capital Palma, in Mallorca, when she decided to buy a coffee from a vending machine.
As she began to drink the hot liquid, the woman noticed that it had a strange taste, and when she looked more closely at the glass she noticed a swarm of insects crawling inside it, according to Spanish news site Ultima Hora, quoted by adevarul.ro.
Unfortunately, immediately after tasting the coffee, the young woman went into anaphylactic shock, her face began to swell and her throat began to close, making it harder to breathe.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she reportedly had to stay in intensive care for 36 hours.
She received adrenaline and other medication from the airport medical services before being rushed to a clinic in Palma.
His family has now lodged a complaint against the airport with the National Police.
The woman’s relatives claim that the presence of insects in the coffee cup is a possible offense against public health and negligent injury, the news site added.
The family added that the machine, which was shut down, was clearly poorly maintained by airport staff.
