Hundreds of AUR members switched to PNL, accusing that the county branch of the party led by George Simion did not offer them any eligible place on the list of candidates for the County Council. The former representative of AUR, Adrian Băcescu, was appointed the PNL candidate for the mayor’s office of Nehoiu.

“The county organization of PNL Buzău welcomes with open arms the more than 400 members of AUR Nehoiu, who chose to join the liberal forces. According to the quoted source, the reason cited by the AUR representatives is the fact that the AUR Buzău branch turned its back on them.

“Following the meeting of the Local Political Bureau, I decided to leave the AUR party together with the team. After 3 years of work, sustained political activity, hundreds of members registered in the organization and nothing to reproach our team with, the leadership of the county organization of AUR Buzău has turned its back on us. From any point of view, especially meritocratic, our organization deserved at least two eligible places on the list of candidates for the County Council. The places were initially promised by the county leadership of AUR Buzău, but in the end, on the list of candidates for the County Council, the Nehoiu organization had no representative”Anton Băcescu sent.

The cited source also mentioned that Adrian Băcescu was nominated as a PNL candidate for the position of mayor of Nehoiu.

The president of PNL Buzău, Adrian Mocanu, promised his new colleagues “effective collaboration and total support from the county organization of PNL Buzău”.
