More than 400 members of the AUR branch from the city of Nehoiu, Buzau county, left the political formation and migrated to PNL Buzau, the branch led by former deputy Adrian Mocanu, dissatisfied that the organization was not represented on the list of county councilors for the June 9 elections .
The news was given by the secretary of the organization, Anton Bacescu, who, on his Facebook account, explained that his gesture and that of his colleagues comes as a result of the intervention of the county leadership of the formation in drawing up a list for the Nehoiu Local Council, but also of the fact that the organization from Nehoia was not granted, as promised, two eligible places on the list of county councilors.
“Following the meeting of the Local Political Bureau, I decided to leave the AUR party together with the team. After 3 years of work, sustained political activity, hundreds of members registered in the organization and nothing to reproach our team with, the leadership of the county organization of AUR Buzau has turned its back on us.
From any point of view, especially meritocratic, our organization deserves at least two eligible places on the list of candidates for the County Council. The places were initially promised by the county leadership of AUR Buzau, but in the end, on the list of candidates for the County Council, the Nehoiu organization did not have a single representative”, said Anton Bacescu, the coordinator of AUR Nehoiu, quoted by the local daily Sansa.
Anton Baceanu and his team chose to join the PNL Buzau, Bacescu being nominated as the PNL candidate for the position of mayor of the city of Nehoiu.
“I am glad that Mr. Anton Baceanu and his more than 400 colleagues have chosen to join PNL Buzau and I hope that their coming among the Buzau liberals will bring a new breath to the organization from Valea Buzaului, which now has all the assets for to win the City Hall of Nehoiu. We welcome them all and assure them of the full support of the county organization of PNL Buzau. We are committed to working together to make Nehoiu a better place for all the residents of the area,” said Adrian Mocanu, president of PNL Buzau.
Local sources claim that the situation in Nehoiu is not unique, such internal convulsions occurring in many AUR branches in Buzau county, places where the current county leadership, as well as the central one, intervened in the establishment of candidates or lists, against the will of those from territory.
