Romania is participating for the first time, at KITF, the tourism fair in Almaty, Kazakhstan, now in its 22nd edition, which brings together exhibitors from many countries, including the national pavilions of Italy, Croatia, UAE, Maldives, Thailand, Corina Martin announces, General Secretary of FPIOR and Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Romania.

She stated: “We proposed to start promoting ourselves on an extremely important market of tourists, not addressed by Romania so far, and thanks to the Minister of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, Mr. Radu Oprea, as well as colleagues from the Tourism Consultative Council, who understood the opportunity and importance of presenting Romanian destinations on the market of Kazakh tourists, at home, through Romania’s participation, for the first time, at this Fair.

The largest foreign investment in Romania has several hundred Kazakh employees in the refineries at Petromidia Năvodari and Vega, Ploiesti, and they are visited annually by relatives, families, friends, who then return from Romania telling about nature, landscapes, traditions and Romania’s unique tourist attractions – including Dracula’s Castle in Bran, Peles Castle in Sinaia, Transfagarasan, Transylvania, the Danube Delta and the multi-ethnic and rich Dobrogea in the coastal area with diversified resorts and Ana Aslan’s fitness therapies – are among favourites.

Currently, Constanța Port has become a nodal center of major interest in the movement of goods between the Caucasus basin and Western Europe, which has generated a consistent increase in the volume of business trips between Kazakhstan and Romania, and Kazakh officials and businessmen discover with amazement Romania, a country that has never been promoted in Kazakhstan before, but which they want to visit again as tourists.

I believe that it is time to approach a niche market and a real opportunity – to attract Kazakh tourists and visitors to the holiday destinations and cities in Romania. Businessmen are also tourists – but Kazakhs know nothing about Romania and what makes us unique in the world, as a country.

The destinations CONSTANTA – MAMAIA, EFORIE, but also BORȘA, from MARAMUREȘ are present in the Romania Stand. Two reputable hotels in the spa area and two tour operators are also present at the meeting with the Kazakh market.
The Federation of Romanian Hospitality Industry Employers (FPIOR) and RESTO Constanța are also here to support the Romanian destinations they represent and promote, these days, at the Fair.

We have set up meetings with the tour operators that we have brought to Info tour in Romania in 2021, we will meet again to establish circuits and routes in our destinations and I am glad that we have Mrs. Mădălina Lupu, Ambassador of Romania as a special guest in the Romanian Stand in Astana.

I am convinced that we will return with results that will significantly increase the tourist circulation between the two countries and that will attract, in particular, groups and circuits with Kazakh tourists to many of the Romanian destinations.”
