The tragedy occurred on Sunday, May 5, 2024, around 1 p.m
12:00, on the county road
221, at the exit from the town of Găvani towards Gemenele.
From the first data, it emerged that a 41-year-old man, while driving a vehicle on DJ 221, towards the Gemenele commune, at the exit from the Găvani town, lost control of the steering wheel and left the roadway, crashing into of
one Tree.
“As a result of the event, the driver and the passenger, aged 32, from Gemenele commune, died. After the checks carried out, the police found that the driver had the right to drive
cancelled”, IPJ Brăila sent.
In this case, a criminal file was drawn up in which investigations are continued under the aspect of “committing the offenses of driving
a vehicle without a driver’s license and manslaughter”.
Attack with a machete, in Brăila
Also in Brăila, a 17-year-old teenager was cut with a machete, two days ago, at the entrance to Monument Park, in the center of Brăila. The aggressor was detained, and the court ordered the measure of house arrest for a period of 30 days.
The incident took place on Thursday, May 2, around 8:00 p.m. Police officers from the Public Order Office were alerted to the emergency number 112 regarding the fact that a young man was hit with a sharp object by a teenager. The aggressor ran away, being caught by the police a short time later.
“The police have identified a 15-year-old young man from Brăila, suspected of committing the act. He was taken to the police headquarters for questioning, being criminally investigated for committing the crimes of hitting or other violence and disturbing public order and peace,” Brăila County Police Inspectorate reported.
Also, the young man was fined 1,000 lei, according to Law no. 61/1991. He could not explain the reason for his act.
On Friday, May 3, 2024, he was detained on the basis of an ordinance for 24 hours, being incarcerated in Brăila Penitentiary.
On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the court ordered the young man under house arrest for a period of 30 days.
