Bhoma villagers demand urgent completion of culvert work ahead of monsoon

PONDA: The Varchawada Bhoma villagers had urged the authorities to direct the contractor to complete the pending work on the construction of the culvert before the monsoon. The villagers said the long pending work is causing endless hardships to them. They pointed out that on Saturday due to the heavy rain, the mud dumped by the contractor at the construction site landed on the road making it slippery and many bikers falling all over the area.

They demanded that the authorities should direct the contractor to complete the work at the earliest.

Villagers stated that the work on the construction of the 25 meters wide culvert is progressing at a snail’s pace over the past six months from Varchawada upto Bhoma main road.

The locals are preparing to repair their houses and they find it difficult to take vehicles loaded with material to their residences, due to the ongoing work. Even the panchayat had directed the authorities to take steps to complete the work on an urgent basis. Locals said that they feared the worst as rains were round the corner
